Jeffrey is a filmmaker, engineer, and virtual reality pioneer. As the founder and CEO of Positron. Jeffrey invented Voyager®, the world’s first full-motion chair for cinematic VR. He and his team have worked with studios such as Universal, Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Bros, Adult Swim, Felix & Paul, and others to craft premium VR content for XR Cinemas using the Voyager platform. Prior to Positron, Jeffrey worked as an independent filmmaker. Jeffrey is the writer/director of several award-winning film, including the animated film Flatland (starring Martin Sheen, Tony Hale, and Kristen Bell), the cyber-thriller Dragon Day (distributed by eONE). He is a producer on the first comedic VR film made specifically for Voyager, Shady Friend, starring “Weird Al” Yankovic. As an engineer, Jeffrey developed a consulting practice for LabVIEW graphical programming and authored several books on LabVIEW. Jeffrey is passionate about elevating and transforming storytelling through immersive technologies.

Shyam Kannapurakkaran is a visual effects artist, designer & educator based in Los Angeles, California. His latest work involves post-production and technology for virtual reality experiences (VRE) including Le Musk (directed by A. R. Rahman), The Walking Dead, an American Express 360 ̊ commercial, season promo AR portal experience for the LA Rams, a Google spotlight story for IWC – The Road Less Traveled, and as a Virtual Production TD(Stargate Studios) on Jim Henson Studio’s Earth to Ned(Disney+). He has also collaborated with top VR capture and post-production technology developers including Jaunt, Nokia, and The Foundry. Shyam’s work has earned several awards including the 3D Film Festival: Best Experimental Film (Tarang) and Roman Bronze Award, Nvidia: Best Immersive Project as well as numerous film festivals and exhibitions worldwide. Born and raised in India, Shyam’s passion for art & design developed into a career as an architect. Eventually his passion to blend art and technology found its home at the Texas A&M University where he received his Master of Science degree in Visualization focusing on stereoscopy and its influence on the audience experience. After graduation he moved to Los Angeles to work at Walt Disney Animation Studios as an apprentice stereoscopic artist on Wreck it Ralph(2012).
